Cockle Bay Garden

This project was the design of an awkward front garden as part of house renovation and new workshop by Pure Architecture Ltd

The front garden is an odd shape, sloped and public – the brief included requirement for easy access to the workshop and garden and vehicle access at house level.

The landscape design needed to include retaining – and as a response to the vertical cladding proposed for the workshop, exposed formwork concrete retaining was used to support the driveway, with lower walls of vertical timber through the garden to provide workshop and garden access – all designed to look good from above and below.

Planting is a mix of tough native plants for texture and to relate to the semi-coastal location, and colourful foliage and flowers requested by the owners.
